Whoever you are and wherever you come from there is a welcome for you at the Meeting House.
The Meeting House is a place where you can relax, forget the pressures of University life for a little while, and just enjoy being with other people, or if you prefer, sitting quietly by yourself. Read our newsletter to learn more about the Chaplaincy at the Meeting House.
What can you find here?
Here we offer the Welsh tradition of warmth, hospitality and welcome to the whole University community. It is a place where people of all nationalities, cultures, faiths and ways of life can relax, chat, argue or pray together, learn respect for one another, and grow: simply a place to meet.
The Meeting House is not a neutral place in which people have to leave their beliefs and individuality at the door, but a mutual place in which people can come as themselves to encounter others as themselves. Meeting people of a totally different culture or set of beliefs can be challenging and uncomfortable, but it can also be exciting and fun. It is an important part of what education is about.
The Meeting House is open from 9 am to 5 pm, Mondays to Fridays, during term, and from 11 am to 3pm during the holidays. It is also open in the evenings for special events and regular group bookings.
• a Lounge where you can drop in and relax, and help yourself to tea, coffee or a cold drink
• quiet rooms for work, prayer, reflection or a private chat
• opportunity to talk with a Chaplain
• rooms bookable for meetings and other events
• WiFi access.
Periodically the Meeting House is home to exhibitions of student art. Why not drop by and have a look.
